Wild Craft of the Month - Ginger Decoction
This amazing tea is warming and strengthening, and tastes like an elixir of goodness. It is quite superior to steeping ginger in a cup of boiling water both in strength and heat, and it is fantastic if you have a cold or cough…
Use organic Ginger if you can, and organic lemons and local Honey which is likely to be natural and untreated (ie strained and heated for cosmetic purposes).
1” knob of fresh ginger sliced
4 cups of water
Juice of half a lemon
1 desert spoon of honey
Place the Ginger and water in a small glass or stainless steel pan, and simmer for 10 mins. Turn off the heat and then leave covered for 5 minutes. Add the lemon juice and Honey and stir to mix. Strain the Ginger tea and drink up. Makes about 2 cups.
